After completing this training course, you will be able to:
Present the international climate change regime, including:
- The three instruments of the UN climate change regime – the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the Kyoto Protocol, and the Paris Agreement.
- How the UNFCCC operates through the Conference of the Parties (COP) process and the major accomplishments of the COP.
- The organization and administration of the annual COPs.
- The institutional arrangements for the intergovernmental climate change process.
Describe and analyse the draft Rules of Procedure of the Conference of the Parties, including:
- The responsibilities and operating procedures of the governing bodies, subsidiary bodies and other decision‑making bodies.
- The process by which Parties reach consensus on issues under negotiation.
Certification
Participants who successfully pass the quiz with a minimum grade of 70% within three attempts will receive an official UN Climate Change (UNFCCC) certificate.
