The Public Financial Management Reporting Framework. An AFROSAI-E and GIZ joint project.
The Sustainable Development Goals represent a universal blueprint designed to address global challenges and build a better, more resilient world. Recognizing the importance of cooperative efforts for sustainable change in the world, the majority of SAIs are involved in following up and review of SDGs’ implementation.
Inspired by the discussions at the INCOSAI conference in 2016 AFROSAI-E and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) launched a special website for the Public Financial Management Reporting Framework (PFM RF). Since running of the PFM RF tool in 2018, 12 SAIs in Africa, one SAI in Europe and one SAI in Latin-America have adopted it.
This tool, based on Microsoft Excel, allows SAIs to assess the readiness of national public financial management systems to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as their resilience in the face of emergencies. The tool enables auditors to use various audit evidence gathering techniques and methods commonly used in performance, compliance and financial audits. Complementary guides, best practice studies, and performing research are available on this website. All SAI are invited in knowledge sharing and use of the PFM Reporting Framework.
