ARABOSAI International Forum on SDGs was Held in Morocco

The General Secretariat of the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) and the ARABOSAI Committee on SDGs, organized an International Forum on best practices in monitoring and assessing the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This Forum was hosted by SAI Morocco in Rabat, Morocco, spanning two days.

On the first day, the participants discussed the innovative approaches to auditing SDGs as well as the mechanisms for collaboration between the participating Supreme Audit Institutions and the ASOSAI Committee on SDGs.

SAI Russia was represented at the event as the chair of the INTOSAI Working Group on SDGs and Key Sustainable Development and the deputy chair of the ASOSAI Working Group on SDGs.

During the meeting, participants discussed a range of issues related to auditing, including:

• Further development of audit of SDGs implementation within the INTOSAI community and its future perspectives.
• Initiatives for capacity building in auditing of SDGs implementation.
• Planning and programming strategies for monitoring the SDGs and an approach to impact assessment through audits.

On the second day of the forum, participants from China, Iraq, Kuwait, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Qatar and Russia shared their practical experience in auditing the SDGs implementation.
