IDI/CAROSAI SAI PMF Facilitation Program

An eLearning workshop on SAI PMF Review was organized by the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) from 15 to 26 January 2021.

The event, which was attended by sixteen participants from CARASAI member SAIs, is a follow up on the progress of the SAI PMF assessments being conducted in the region as part of the IDI/CAROSAI SAI PMF facilitation program.

After the basic training course was concluded in May 2020, national teams proceeded to the field work which focused on collecting evidence. It was followed by the reporting stage which implied drafting some selected chapters of the SAI PMF Report. The assessment teams enjoyed full support of IDI throughout the whole process which was provided in remote regime. Similarly, an external resource person and two managers from the IDI were facilitating the event this January.

The review workshop presented an opportunity for the assessment teams to work with IDI representatives on writing, revising and correcting draft sections of the SAI PMF reports. In addition, the participants were required to identify key strengths and weaknesses in their respective SAI performance and to conduct a root cause analysis, revealing interlinkages between the different aspects of SAI performance. The ultimate objective of the workshop was to finalize the full draft SAI PMF reports and have them ready for an independent review by the IDI.

The final SAI PMF reports, which will include an independent review statement issued by the IDI, are expected to be ready by 31 May 2021.
