INTOSAI CAST – Centre for Advanced Studies

INTOSAI has launched the Center for Advanced Studies (CASt) on Public Audit under the INTOSAI Supervisory Committee for Emerging Issues.

The idea to establish the INTOSAI Center for Advanced Studies in Public Audit was proposed by SAI Brazil at the 77th INTOSAI Governing Board meeting in November 2023. The goal of the Center is to enhance cooperation between INTOSAI and the international academic community, conduct research, and develop expert recommendations on critical issues in public audit.

As a first step, CASt has launched a series of short-term studies on global challenges facing SAIs on three priority topics:

• The impact of artificial intelligence on SAI activities;
• Auditing Climate Financing;
• Fighting hunger and poverty.

The study will take place from October 2024 until February 2025 and the results will be presented at a special workshop.

In addition, CASt plans to create a digital library of scientific publications on government audit issues. This digital library will be made available on the CASt’s future website.
