SAI Brazil Presented a Climate Scanner

In  March 24 SAI Brazil held a workshop that addressed the Climate Scanner in the frames of the 19th Steering Committee Meeting of the INTOSAI The Working Group on Environmental Auditing (WGEA).

SAI Brazil presented a “Climate Scanner” – a tool that will evaluate government actions related to climate change.

The Climate Scanner is an initiative of the Chairman of INTOSAI (SAI Brazil) and based on the partnership with WGEA.

The main objective of the project is to develop a methodology that allows the regional audit institutions to facilitate a rapid assessment of the implementation phase of the relevant countries related to climate change programs.

The event addressed the technical aspects involved in structuring the platform which will serve to standardize the information and analysis necessary for the introduction of a Climate Scanner. As a result, the areas of greatest risk and updating of the agenda related to governance, climate finance and public policy were identified.
