SAI Morocco Organized a Round Table During the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and the IMF

In October 2023, SAI Morocco, a member of the INTOSAI working group on SDGs and Key Sustainable Development Indicators, organized a round table “Contribution of Supreme Audit Institutions to the achievement of United Nations’ 2030 agenda: Exploring the path forward”.

The event was attended by experts interested in the development, implementation and audit of the SDGs.

Among the main speakers were representatives of the UN, INTOSAI, international organizations and research and production associations, as well as ministers of the Kingdom of Morocco.

Representatives of the Secretariat of the Working Group on SDGs and Key Sustainable Development Indicators (SAI Russia) also gave a welcome speech and a report on the group’s activities.

The meeting focused on global challenges of sustainable development and the role of supreme audit institutions.

The round table participants discussed the following issues:

• strategic approaches to accelerate the achievement of national SDG priorities and indicators
• contribution of SAIs to improving the effectiveness and in formativeness of results reporting
• innovative methodologies for assessing the impact of sustainable development initiatives
• technological advance and data analysis to improve monitoring and evaluation
• the role of state audit and consultation for Parliament and the Government on issues of strategic interest to sustainable development.
