At the INCOSAI plenary session, the INTOSAI Presidency powers were officially passed from the Federative Republic of Brazil’s Federal Court of Accounts to the Accountability State Authority of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The current three-year period is over. SAI Brazil presented its key results.
Minister Vital do Rêgo Filho, Head of SAI Brazil, drew a line under his three-year Presidency cadence. He thanked SAI Russia for their effective management of INTOSAI in 2019–2022 and a significant contribution made to strengthening international cooperation in public audit.
SAI Brazil’s key projects 2022–2025:
- Developing the ClimateScanner digital tool. The project is focused on the development of the inter-SAI professional cooperation when it comes to auditing climate action. The method makes it possible to analyze key aspects of national climate policies in 21 areas (translated into Russian with the support from SAI Russia). SAI Brazil held seven training workshops on the practical use of the tool in 2024, together with SAI India, SAI Morocco, SAI Mexico, SAI Fiji, SAI Czech Republic and SAI South Africa.
- Launching the Center for Advanced Studies (CASt) with input from representatives of INTOSAI working bodies, international organizations and research centers. The project’s goal is to expand cooperation between the INTOSAI and the international academic community, do research and prepare expert recommendations on the relevant issues of public audit.
- Creating the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions with Jurisdictional Functions (JURISAI). The First Constitutive General Assembly of JURISAI took place in Paris, France on October 7–8, 2024. SAI France was voted the President, SAI Morocco – the Secretary General, SAI Brazil – the 2nd Vice President and President of the Finance, Administration and Communication Committee. JURISAI’s objective is to harmonize methods, approaches and practices related to exercising SAIs’ judicial powers.
