An Electronic Course for Self-study by PEFA

The PEFA Secretariat (Public Expenditure and Financial Accountability program,) announced the launch of a new e-course on assessment methodology and public finance management system.
The course consists of four self-study modules. During the training, students will learn how to use the PEFA platform, study examples of practical use of the methodology, and also receive guidance materials. As a result of successful completion of the tests of each module, participants will receive a certificate.

PEFA (Public Expenditure and Financial Accountability program) is a methodology for evaluating the effectiveness of public finance management. It defines 94 characteristics (parameters) for 31 key components of public finance management in 7 main areas.
The PEFA assessment tool provides an opportunity to assess and understand the strengths and weaknesses of the country’s public finance management system and use this information to implement improvements and reforms.
The PEFA has become the standard for evaluating the effectiveness of public finance management: more than 650 assessments have been conducted in more than 150 countries around the world for all income levels.
