In June, Brazil hosted the Month of Sustainable Development.
The Month of Sustainable Development was traditionally organized by the Brazilian Network for Sustainable Legislation, an initiative that includes the National Congress of Brazil, SAI Brazil and more than 50 other governmental institutions.
The opening of the Month of Sustainable Development was held at the Congress of Brazil at the plenary session “Circular Economy and Sustainable Development Initiatives”.
At the opening ceremony, participants discussed the need to share best practices in public administration, as well as issues of interdepartmental interaction.
SAI Brazil presented their projects in the field of separate waste collection, conversion of sewage systems to vacuum systems and installation of photovoltaic systems, as well as the development of a new online course on solid waste management.
In addition, representatives of SAI Brazil presented the Climate Scanner, a new toolе for analyzing the effectiveness of SAIs’ recommendations in the field of environmental audit.
Throughout the month, the Brazilian Network for Sustainable Legislation held a series of face-to-face and virtual events on sustainable development and public administration.
