E-Seminar of the EUROSAI IT Working Group

In April 2022, the EUROSAI Information Technology Working group held e-Seminar “Water behind the dam – challenges regarding data flow for a SAI” on the issues of the importance of data vs the challenge of data exchange.

The parties discussed what blockchain is offering to auditors and what are blockchain’s challenges and opportunities. Apart from that among the aspects discussed were the process of data exchange between European SAIs and the factors to be considered when opting for cloud services. The participants also shared their opinion on the topics of joint network infrastructures of the public sector, related to the shortcomings of data exchange between audited entities and the problem of improvement and automation in areas such as population census and anti-epidemic measures.
