IDI and PASAI cooperates to support ISSAI based audit of Financial Statements of Governments

SAIs of Fiji, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu signed an MoU with PASAI and IDI in order to develop cooperation within the IDI-PASAI Initiative on Auditing Financial Statements of Governments (FSG).

The support under this project covers assessment of needs for implementation of ISSAIs in Financial Audit, as well as assistance in auditing financial statements of governments based on ISSAIs.

43 participants took part in a week-long workshop which served as the primary part of the initiative. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, most of support provided to participants under the project will be delivered mostly online through virtual instruments.

It is based on the workplace created jointly by IDI and PASAI and hosted on the PASAI Learning Management System (LMS).

The similar support to SAIs of Tuvalu and Solomon Islands started in October 2020 and is currently ongoing. Later in 2021 SAIs of Samoa and Tonga are expected to join the program, the total number of PASAI members participating in the initiative reaching eight.
