PASAI Conducts Webinar on Interaction Between SAIs and Media

The Pacific Association of Supreme Audit Institutions (PASAI) held a webinar for employees of the supreme audit institutions of the region on the topic of interaction between the supreme audit institutions and the media.

During the webinar, participants discussed the role of mass media in national public administration systems, as well as joint mechanisms for increasing transparency and accountability of SAIs.

During the webinar, it was noted that effective interaction between SAIs and the media can significantly simplify the work of SAIs in such aspects as identifying shortcomings in the organization’s activities, highlighting the facts of corruption, and establishing more open channels of communication with the public.

The webinar was held with the participation of the Public Auditor of Palau and Chair of PASAI Mr. Satrunino Tewid, TV and radio correspondents, print journalists and other media representatives.
