SAI Hungary Welcomed a Session of the Danube Transnational Program Audit Team

A meeting of the Interreg Danube Transnational Program Audit Team was held in SAI Hungary in Budapest. 

The program is a funding tool for 14 States of the Danube region, designed to ensure the achievement of the four priorities of the European Union in the region, such as: development of innovation and social responsibility, improvement of the environment and development of cultural responsibility, development of communications and energy security, and strengthening the institutional capacity of the States participating in the program.

The fifth meeting of the Audit Team was intended to discuss progress made under the programme. It was noted that effective cooperation between SAIs and national audit teams are essential to maintain the control and management of European funds dedicated to ensuring sustainable development and promoting the country’s interests, thereby supporting regional cooperation within the EU neighbourhood.
