SAI Russia Presented the Best Practices of Audit in the Transport Sector to the SAIs of CIS Countries

In November, as part of an exchange of experience with representatives of the Council of Heads of the SAIs of the CIS member States, a seminar on “State financial audit of measures to improve transport accessibility for the population” was held.
The event was attended by representatives of SAIs of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, as well as regional audit institutes (RAIs) of the subjects of the Russian Federation and territorial bodies of SAI Belarus.
Opening the seminar, Timur Makhmutov, Director of the Department of International and Regional Cooperation of SAI Russia, stressed that the availability of modern and efficient transport infrastructure is an essential condition for the smooth functioning of the economy and ensuring the quality of life of the citizens.
The speaker noted that SAI plays an important role in achieving national goals in this area and regularly checks the implementation of state measures in the field of transport.
The issues of state financial audit of measures to improve transport accessibility for the population were covered in detail in the report of Atsamaz Dedegkayev, Head of the Transport Control Inspectorate of the Department of Transport Audit and International Cooperation.
The speaker spoke about the main types of state support for transport development in the Russian Federation. He focused on the grounds, stages and methods of conducting inspections, and also paid attention to digital solutions as an effective tool for monitoring activities.
