Experience of SAI Finland

Ms. Tytti Yli Viikari, Auditor General of the National Audit Office of Finland (NAOF), and Mr. Jaakko Eskola, Director at NAOF, speak on how the SAI prepares for the future in order to react quickly to the changing realities.

Over the past 12 months, SAI Finland has extensively reformed its financial audit procedures. This reform has been prompted by the opportunities offered by data analytics, the quality and efficiency benefits arising from centralised implementation, and the aim of providing better service for a wide variety of different customers. The reform is a response to the changes in the management of central government finances and one of the aims is to make more extensive use of new digital technologies.
