SAI Liberia hosts AFROSAI-E Governing Board Meeting for the first time
From 18 to 22 May 2026, the Annual Governing Board Meeting of the African Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions for English-Speaking Africa (AFROSAI-E) was held in Monrovia, Republic of Liberia. The event brought together representatives of 26 SAIs.
Participants discussed the implementation of the AFROSAI-E Strategic Plan for 2025–2029, as well as issues related to strengthening SAI independence and enhancing the transparency and effectiveness of public financial management. Special attention was given to financial oversight of public debt management, as well as the role of SAIs in achieving the SDGs.
During the meeting, the AFROSAI-E Annual Report for 2025 was approved. Following the event, participants reaffirmed their commitment to further developing regional cooperation, improving audit quality and strengthening the institutional capacity of SAIs. The next Governing Board Meeting will be held in Ethiopia in May 2027.
