SAI Bulgaria Met with World Bank Experts

SAI Bulgaria hosted a working meeting of the department’s employees with representatives of the World Bank, where key problems of municipal administration were discussed.
Special emphasis was placed on the revenue and public procurement management system within the framework of the topic “Structure for assessing the effectiveness and potential of municipal administration”.
Experts noted that the complex regulatory framework and frequent changes in legislation create difficulties for municipalities in conducting the public procurement process. Municipalities often use external consultants to prepare applications, which leads to financial adjustments. Experts also raised the issue of creating internal audit units in municipalities.
